Please note that 200µ is the widest slit, and this configuration was used for measurements of low-intensity light. This will be a very sensitive configuration since the QE Pro has a very sensitive back-thinned detector and along with the thermoelectric cooler makes it the most sensitive spectrometer, so if you find that what you wish to measure is saturating its detector at its shortest integration time of 8ms then change the slit to a narrower one if you have one. Please note that wavelength calibration is required when changing from a wider slit to a narrower one if the spectrometer was previously calibrated with the 200µ slit. You can also try using smaller diameter fibers and/or an attenuator or neutral density filters. If you need to purchase a narrower slit, please contact Ocean Optics.

Ocean Optics also sells wavelength calibration sources to check peaks along the spectrometer's range and even perform your own wavelength calibration. We recommend using a 40µ diameter fiber to connect the source to the spectrometer for wavelength calibration.

Please note that the free trial version of OceanView v. 2.0.8 does not support the new spectrometer models such as Ocean ST, Ocean SR-series, Ocean HR-series, or Ocean NR.

Go into OceanView’s main menu under Help / Licensing, and click the Activate Trial button, and then close and reopen OceanView.
